Facebuddha: Transcendence in the Age of Facebook and the Other Social Networks won a 2017 Nautilus Silver Book Award for Religion/Spirituality of Eastern Thought.Â
My New York Daily News Op-Ed of March 28, 2015 (Deactivate Facebook and Become Human Again) went viral, staying the #1 most read article on the site for 3 days. My letter about compassion in the therapeutic relationship was published in The New York Times on August 16, 2014, and my letter about social media was published in the International New York Times on April 13, 2015. I have blogged for Psychology Today since 2011 (an average of two posts per month), and for the Center for Asian American Media since 2006, moving my Memoirs of a Superfan blog to Eastwind ezine in 2020, expanding my primary focus beyond CAAMFest, the Asian American Film Festival. In San Francisco, I am a regular featured performer at poetry and prose events. My poems were published in the California Book Award-winning anthology Indivisible: A South Asian American Poetry Anthology, and my self-published book of poems, a fox peeks out, won an Honorable Mention in the San Francisco Book Festival in 2012.  I have also contributed to Hyphen and Nha Magazines. I have been a guest speaker on several broadcast shows, including the BBC, “The Stream” on Al-Jazeera, AJ+, Judith Regan’s Sirius XM program, KPFA’s APEX Express and Talk It Out, the Matt Townsend Show on BYU Radio, and many others. The Pacific Heart podcast is available on Stitcher, Soundcloud and iTunes.
