"That's just like, your opinion, man!"

Like many of you, I was appalled by the unmasking behavior we saw last week on airplanes. My joke was "who knew that the first thing we'd see when the masks came off would be the a$$holes?" Sigh. So I wrote this article, to try to bring us closer to compassion and sensitivity to individuality and vulnerability.

And then I was appalled by watching 2 episodes of Couples Therapy on Showtime, which took me to a review in the NYT, which took me to a review of Lori Gottlieb, LMFT's book and advice column for The Atlantic .... where I got to be appalled again. That's three appalleds in one week, which is not a record, but someone should seriously keep track, lol. So I wrote this. (Maybe that would be a great band name: Superfan and the Apostles of the Appalled")

There is a spectrum from Instagram "therapy" to advice columnist to docuseries therapists to ... hell. All of which are different from actual therapy, but which are all paving the way with good intentions, I'm sure. I mean not just the clamor for $$$ and fame, right???!!!

Yes, PT published both articles on the same day, which gives me some hope that my appalls are getting through. At least this week. I'll keep you posted.
