Dear all,
I decided to aim my fall classes more specifically for the times. I will be giving a series of 8 weeknight lectures on these topics:
In Japantown at the Union Bank Hospitality Room (near Daiso), 6:30 pm each of these evenings. 20-30 minute talks followed by discussion. Free tickets at Eventbrite.
Mindful Self Compassion has proven benefit in coping with distress, preventing burnout, and building resilience. (Sept 11)
Compassion Cultivation - Tips on maintaining Compassion and humanity with difficult people and in difficult situations (Sept 16)
Asian American men's and women's psychology and mental health (Sept 23 and 30)
Narcissism, Nihilism and Relatedness in the American Psyche (Oct 9 and 28)
Youth Internet addiction (October 14)

Full description at my website - SF Love Dojo Fall Lecture Series. I hope to put these on YouTube eventually, but this will take some time. I would love to see you in Japantown this fall!
I hope you also find this article helpful. I was asked to write it for the Center for Mindful Self Compassion after the Dayton and El Paso shootings. And we've had more mass shootings, including just this weekend in Odessa.
Medicine for Difficult Times, by Ravi Chandra (August 9, 2019) at the Center for Mindful Self Compassion website.
Warmly,
Ravi Chandra, M.D.
